This is my fourth year at Walker Elementary. I teach fourth grade. I grew up in Fayette County near Carbon Hill, Alabama and I graduated from Hubbertville High School. I attended Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama for two years and then graduated with a degree in elementary education at the University of West Florida in 1992. I taught at a private school in Florida for a few years before moving to Alabama. After moving to Alabama, I taught at Sumiton Elementary/Middle School and Oakman Elementary School. This will be my 20th year of teaching and during these years I taught 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. I am married to Scott McCown from Pensacola, Florida. We have one son, Andrew, who will be a senior at Faulkner University this fall. He is majoring in criminal justice. When I am not teaching and planning for teaching, I like to read, walk, play around with photography and occasionally bake specialty cakes for friends and family. I am also highly involved with teaching in the Bible school program at Central church of Christ and with the youth and college programs there. I really enjoy teaching and look forward to working with your child. If I can ever be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact me.
